Within the framework of continuous cooperation with the Republic Commission for the Protection of Rights in Public Procurement Procedures (hereinafter: the Republic Commission), the SIGMA/OECD initiative organised workshop “Review and Remedies System in Slovenia” on 29th October 2019 in the premises of the Republic Commission. The workshop was attended by Members of the Republic Commission and the employees in the Service of the Republic Commission.
On behalf of the SIGMA/OECD initiative, the participants were welcomed by Gheorghe Cazan, a senior adviser for public procurement, as keynote speaker.
Sašo Matas, Director-General of Public Procurement Directorate in the Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia, addressed the recent amendments in the Slovenian system of legal remedies in the area of public procurement, and the underlying reasons for those changes. Mr. Matas’ presentation also focused on the functioning of the national electronic procurement system in Slovenia and the impact of electronic procurement on the review and remedies system in the public procurement domain. The workshop was an exceptionally interactive one, in that the lecturer cited a number of actual examples from the domestic experience gained in the process of implementation of European Union Directives on public procurement.
