Representatives of Republic Commission have attended the meeting of the Subcommittee for Internal Market and Competition Protection held in Belgrade on December 3rd, 2015.

Subcommittee for Internal Market and Competition Protection, co-presided by Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Republic of Serbia, is one of the eight subcommittees for implementation of Stabilization and Association Agreement of European Union and Republic of Serbia, whose meetings are held annually and are aimed at reviewing the issues related to the Agreement execution. After the Agreement became effective, the agenda of the Subcommittee meeting has been extended with the topics previously discussed at the meetings of Enhanced Permanent Dialogue. On behalf of Republic of Serbia Vesna Kovac, State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, chaired the meeting. Christos Makridis, deputy Head of Unit for Serbia from Directorate General for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, was the head of European Commission delegation.

Representatives of the relevant state institutions of Republic of Serbia presented the situation in the area of intellectual property rights, competition and state aid, public procurement, rights of establishment and rights to provide services, companies’ rights, accounting, auditing, financial services, public health and customer protection.

After the presentations on improvement achieved in the mentioned fields in the period after the previously held Subcommittee meeting in April 2015, representatives of Republic of Serbia institutions answered the questions of European Commission representatives, who also gave their comments and recommendations for further activities.
