The President of the State Audit Institution (SAI) and the State Auditor General, Ivica Gavrilović, held a meeting with the President of the Republic Commission for Protection of Rights in Public Procurement Procedures, Irena Grujić. During the meeting, importance of strengthening of the cooperation between the two institutions in the fields of common interest was discussed, with emphasis on strengthening the transparency, legality and efficiency of the public procurement system.
The interlocutors underlined that the exchange of experience and good practices is of great importance for the improvement of institutional capacities, as well as for strengthening of the trust of the public in the work of independent state bodies. The importance of permanent cooperation aiming to improve the system of control and supervision in the field of public procurement was also stressed.
At the meeting, the possibilities for organizing joint activities, professional gatherings and trainings that would contribute to the improvement of knowledge and skills in domain of public finance and public procurement, were discussed, too.
The two presidents expressed their readiness to continue and intensify cooperation in order to achieve more efficient and responsible management of public funds.
The SAI was also represented by the Supreme State Auditor Zoran Stepanović, Secretary of the Institution Slavica Raspopović and Head of the Service for International Cooperation and Public Relations Iva Vasilić Miljić, while on behalf of the Republic Commission for Protection of Rights in Public Procurement Procedures, apart from the President, Secretary of the Commission Branislav Cvetković attended the meeting.
